Comparison

It is very normal for people to compare among each other. We like to compare people intelligence and ability and this actually happens in a family, school, universities and workplaces. However, for me, I don't like to compare people abilities as I understand different person will have different capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. I myself like to compare facilities available in different countries than the one that we have in Malaysia. I realised that I can't compare 100% from what other countries have with what my own country doesn't have. Each countries has their own unique identities and if all the countries have almost everything in common, then it won't be interesting for other people to appreciate the differences of cultural and identity which they found in Malaysia for example. However, there are some beneficial things we can compare such as education, transport and cleanliness of the countries. In order to improve our education and transportation, we can compare with others which have a better system than ours. But to compare people lifestyle, we cannot compare and hoping that our people will change according to our perceptions. I give an example of a conversation between two people:

A: I love cooking.Do you like cooking?
B: No.I'm not interested in cooking.

A:Oh.Why not? Its really an enjoyable activity you know. Anna, your sister, loves cooking and you should be like her.
B: I'm more interested in sewing and do some home decorating.

Yes. From this conversation, they have a different kind of interest and we cannot expect that our friends will have the same hobby with us.

But what happen is we tend to assume that our friend is lazy to cook and that's why he or she is not interested in cooking. Not interested in cooking does not mean that he or she doesn't cook at all. Perhaps, our friend do some cooking sometimes but not his or her interest to cook everyday.

This is just an example of comparing other interest. The idea here is please do not compare and respect each other.
